Gilbert is the firm's senior partner having been a partner in the firm since 1982.     He has ultimate responsibility for the firm's marketing and development activity in which there is as strong an emphasis on maintaining close relationships with existing clients as looking for opportunities to add to the client portfolio.

His early work was as a property conveyancer which left him with a permanent fixation for quality processes and customer service.  Gilbert represents the firm on the Direct Conveyancing Association the UK organisation of leading firms serving the property conveyancing market and the lending industry.

Gilbert's current areas of legal expertise are commercial property acquisitions/ sales/ development, business purchases/ sales/ mergers, residential property development and trusts, Inheritance Tax, Wills and estate administration.    He is a member of the NI Commercial Property Lawyers' Association & the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Gilbert is married to Alison and they have four adult kids.  Gilbert enjoys as competitive tennis as he can muster and intends to continue to do so "for as long as I continue to suffer the delusion that I am making a reasonable stab at following my serve to the net to volley!"
 
Gilbert's ideal night out
Gilbert's ideal night out is a cold, windy & wet Friday night at Ravenhill where the crowd and the Ulster Rugby team are intimidating some highly fancied visiting team into basic errors and ultimate defeat; unfortunately these nights are few and far between at the minute so the stoic humour, banter and craic of the crowd during the matches has to suffice on most occasions
