Solicitors seeing more unusual cases

Around two million people seek legal advice a year and although some cases will always be in a solicitor's daily remit, people are increasingly seeking advice for more unusual matters.
According to a survey by TakeLegalAdvice.com, nearly 60 per cent of people consult a solicitor when moving house, 27 per cent use a solicitor's services to draw up their will and 21 per cent arrange a divorce through their solicitor.
Around 4.6 million people have sought legal advice over an accident or injury and almost four million people visited a solicitor to help with an issue at work.
Yet people in Britain and Northern Ireland seem more likely to flex their legal rights than ever in a variety of less commonplace ways.
One in every 1,000 meals out will end in a visit to the solicitors, one in every 500 visits to the hairdresser will result in a legal claim and one in 20 people has attempted to make a claim against cowboy builders.
Eighty-nine per cent of people who made any sort of legal claim said they had no regrets about doing so.
