HMRC sets up online video advice platform
24/02/2009
Solicitors in Northern Ireland may want to advise their clients to take advantage of a new online platform that has been set up by Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
HMRC has introduced a series of short videos that are available online, which offer guides and advice to new and small businesses about how to go about their tax issues.
Hosted by TV presenter Dan Snow, the ten videos explore everything from setting up a business to how income tax applies and affects the self employed as well as corporation tax and VAT.
"We've broken the information down into small video chunks, so that people can access exactly what they need to know," explained Mr Snow.
"Hopefully this makes the new videos really useful for people and businesses."
A similar video diary series from HMRC dubbed The Start-up Diaries will highlight how three individuals set up in business and show the challenges they face.
This year saw a record response to HMRC's online tax return platform, which saw millions use it to file their returns.
