Google Street View new divorce weapon?
30/03/2009
Solicitors in Northern Ireland dealing with divorce and family law may soon be faced with a new phenomenon when dealing with divorce or separation cases, it has emerged.
It is just days since Google launched its 360-degree Street View online mapping platform, which offers views of many roads in cities in the UK, and the portal has already been cited in a divorce case, Metro reports.
According to the newspaper, a woman in London has used the platform as evidence in her case against her husband after spotting his "distinct" vehicle parked outside a female friend's house.
The woman claims the image dates to when her husband said he was on a business trip.
In another case, a woman's solicitor claimed she found an image of her husband that "created the appearance of intimacy" as he talked into the ear of a female colleague.
The new technology has been launched in 25 cities across the UK including Belfast.
