Demand for GB coastal properties 'will stay strong'
01/02/2010
The large demand that exists for coastal properties across the British Isles has been emphasised by one expert.
According to iammoving.com's partner relationship manager Jon Brown, it is likely that such properties will continue to be sought after in the near future.
"These properties are at a premium and with many surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty it is always more difficult to build new housing along the coastline," he commented.
Mr Brown believes that the trend for home buyers to look towards more rural areas of the country when considering settling down really kicked off in the first half of the last decade.
He suggests that this contrasts with people's desire to live in southern England in the 1980s and 1990s.
Last month, statistics published by Halifax revealed that between the end of 1999 and the close of last year, Northern Ireland house prices went up by a figure of 99 per cent.
