Super-rich 'still hunting for NI property'
12/06/2008
The very wealthy are still on the look-out for new large luxury homes, an architect has claimed.
Des Ewing said that interest in his homes is so high that he has had to stop taking bookings.
He told the Belfast Telegraph: "There is tremendous confidence in the market that we are operating in."
Larger and better-quality homes are most in demand, the Belfast Telegraph reports.
The trend has come from a rise in the number of people who are able to afford bigger homes, it was claimed.
Mr Ewing said that popular aspects in new-build quality homes include houses with five or six bedrooms, utility rooms with additional showers and large gardens.
In addition, open-plan kitchens and dining rooms are seen as desirable, Mr Ewing told the newspaper.
Earlier this week, the Council of Mortgage Lenders said that the key issue for solicitors in the property market in Northern Ireland is affordability.
