Derek Hill, a 64 year old former Tour de France marshall, is seeking compensation in the amount of £100,000 for injuries sustained after being deliberately pushed by a passenger in a vehicle.

Mr Hill claimed an oncoming car reduced its speed and that a passenger leaned out of the window and deliberately pushed him off his bicycle causing a broken hip and serious head injuries. He spent 3 weeks in hospital and subsequently accepted redundancy from his job when he developed epilepsy.

He is making the claim from the Motor Insurers' Bureau which allows victims of road traffic accidents to bring a claim even if the identity of the driver involved is not known.
