Builder seeks compensation after sholder op

Builder Neil Brunton, aged 39, is seeking medical negligence compensation of £100,000 after a poorly executed shoulder operation.

A consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Queen's Hospital in Burton carried out corrective surgery to Mr Brunton's shoulder to rectify a problem of constant dislocation. Four suture anchors were fitted to the bone socket, but were subsequently found to have not been fitted correctly when Mr Brunton returned complaining of a consistent pain in the shoulder. The anchors were removed in a second operation to avoid further damage.

Mr Brunton says he now suffers from constant pain, is restricted in the functions he can perform in his job, and can no longer take part in his Wing Chun, kung fu classes. He is claiming £100,000 medical negligence compensation to cover his loss of earnings and in respect of the pain and suffering.
