Footballer Tevez banned from driving

Motorists caught speeding should learn an important lesson from the banning of footballer Carlos Tevez from driving for six months. Letters received from the police in respect of driving offences require urgent attention.

The car belonging to Carlos Tevez was clocked speeding on two occasions last year, though he denies being the driver of the car in those instances. Mr Tevez did not respond to letters sent by the police in respect of the speeding offences, and as such was banned from driving for six months. He also admitted to not having a proper UK driving license - for his first year of residence in the UK he was allowed to drive with his Argentinian license, but that period has elapsed.

As well as the six month driving ban, Mr Tevez was ordered to pay fines and costs of £1,540.
