Teenagers in court over assault of 16 yr old in Bangor

Three teenagers have appeared in Downpatrick Magistrates Court in respect of an assault on a 16yr old girl on Bangor pier last week.

A 16-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman are accused of the attack on a young girl which caused serious injuries to her face and head. The attack was described a prolonged assault on a defenceless victim, with the girl said to have been kicked and punched, and her head was hit against the ground.

The 18-year-old woman accused of taking part in the attack, Cora Mary Linda Campbell was charged with grievous bodily harm and was refused bail over concerns that she would reoffend. The 16-year-old girl is also charged with grievous bodily harm and was also refused bail. The 17-year-old boy did not make an application for bail and was charged with grievous bodily harm, aiding and abetting grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The three will appear in court again in May.
