Consumers 'seeking more financial advice'

The credit crunch has increased the number of people looking for financial advice, according to Unbiased.co.uk.

Figures released by the independent website show that the number of people asking for advice on investments rose by 33 per cent.

The same survey also revealed that the volume of people looking for advice on specific investment products increased by 62 per cent in the final quarter of 2007.

Chief executive of the site David Elms said that seeking financial advice was essential in knowing how to deal with the "constantly changing" markets.

"Our latest report demonstrates that when economic conditions are unpredictable, consumers seek independent financial advisers as their guides through hazardous markets," he added.

Solicitors in Northern Ireland can offer advice on tax planning and other financial issues.
