Belfast property market the busiest in Northern Ireland

New statistics in respect of the Northern Ireland property market in the last quarter of 2013 reveal that Belfast was by far the most active region when it came to house purchases.

According to the latest University of Ulster quarterly house price index, 4 in 10 properties bought in the whole of Northern Ireland in the fourth quarter of 2013 were located in Belfast. It is not however, the most expensive area for buying a property in Northern Ireland, with that honour falling to North Down with an average property price of £171,829. The lowest average property price in Northern Ireland is in Londonderry/Strabane at £99,322.

The report also presents a positive picture of the Northern Ireland property market overall, showing property prices as having increased slightly by the end of 2013 compared to how they started the year.
