Don’t file your paper Tax Return

Taxpayers in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK who were issued with a paper self assessment Tax Return, had until 31st October 2014 to submit the return in order to avoid a late filing penalty.

If you haven’t yet sent your 2013/14 tax return to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), remember not to do it on paper – or you’ll end up with a £100 late-filing penalty.

The only way to avoid a penalty is by submitting your tax return online by 31ST January 2015.

If you haven’t registered for online filing, you can do so by visiting the GOV.UK website at and following the instructions.
